Guntur: A chargesheet has been filed in the Acharya Nagarjuna University's, Rishiteshwari case that had earlier created furore all over the state. Babu Rao, the principal who had faced allegations in the case is named as the accused 'A4' in the chargesheet.
Although the investigation has been on for the last six months, Babu Rao had not been arrested yet. It is a known fact that Rishiteshwari's parents had conveyed their allegations on Babu Rao, to the AP chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu when they had met him in this regard.
It is also a known fact that a fact finding committee, led by the retired IAS officer Balasubramanyam, that looked into the Rishiteshwari case had expressed apprehensions on his behaviour and asked the government to investigate him further.
It had been alleged that Babu Rao was responsible for the deterioration of the culture of the university including the prevalence of the ragging culture among the students. It is also being alleged that instead of bringing the guilty to justice, the government has been siding with them and shielding them.
