National Award winning actor Dhanush’s Thanga Magan was released today (December 18th) across the globe. This movie is released in Telugu as well with the title ‘Nava Manmadhudu’. Actress Samantha and Amy Jackson play the female lead roles in this movie. Thanga Magan is touted to be a romantic-drama.

Story:

This is the story of a guy who belongs to a middle-class family. Dhanush loves Amy Jackson in his young age and the duo spends some quality time together. But, his parents oppose his love since Amy Jackson belongs to other community and she has a rich family background.

They arrange a marriage for Dhanush with Samantha. How he forgets his love and how he takes the responsibility as a family man forms the rest of the story.

Performance:

Actor Dhanush played his role with perfection. Dhanush as Tamizh, as a teenager and a family man is superb. He showed a perfect variation in both the roles. His scenes with Amy Jackson as well as Samantha are superb and the chemistry with both the actors looks sizzling. Dhanush’s performance is the major highlight of this movie. His amazing on screen presence, romantic relationship with Amy Jackson and his appearance as a responsible family man are just fabulous. He nailed it all the way.

Actress Amy Jackson looks perfect beside Dhanush. Romantic scenes between the duo are pleasing. Actress Samantha transformed herself into the given role. Her appearance as Dhanush’s wife will surely bring accolades since she brought more depth to that character. Her scenes with Dhanush are wonderful and brought beautiful emotions. While Samantha steals the show in the second half, it is Amy Jackson who does an awesome job in the first half.

Veteran actors Radhika Sarathkumar, KS Ravikumar are perfect in their roles. Actor Satish and others are apt in their roles.

Plus Points:

Minus Points:

Second half is quite predictable. There is no much entertainment in the second half.

Analysis:

Anirudh’s background score is one of the major assets of this movie. Editing is just okay. Dialogues are decent which is connected well with this movie. Screenplay is the major plus. Velraj added everything in right mixture. Comedy, romance and the sentiment grabbed the attention of the audience. Picturization of songs is superb. First half of the movie is fun-filled while second half is filled with emotional scenes. In spite of having lip-lock scenes in this movie, it got ‘U’ certificate with tax exemption.

Verdict:

Thanga Magan is a decent watch entertainer and you will surely enjoy this love story.
