The successor state of Andhra Pradesh has got new feather in its cap. The Union Government is likely to set up prestigious Missile Test Facility near Amaravati, the state's proposed capital. A team of experts have visited the site in Nagayalanka in Krishna district along with forest officials on Friday. They even visited the site allotted to Missile Launching pad near the sea coast.
A total of 154.42 hectares has been proposed for the project, covering test facility in above six hectares and technical facility in 130 hectares. The test site is falling in the limits of the Krishna Wildlife Sanctuary.
Already, the Centre and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) have issued notification on the new Missile Test Facility at Nagayalanka. Union Minister for Environment Prakash Javadekar has approved the missile test launch facility project at Nagayalanka. So, looks like, there's no stopping for the missile test facility in AP.
