Centre to release Rs. 1000 crore for AP capital development
Nation's loss is AP's gain. The NDA has redirected some unspent and residue funds of the last budget year to Andhra Pradesh to appease Chandrababu Naidu government.
The NDA government is all out to help the nascent state which has been hollering of injustice in bifurcation formula and facing acute financial crunch which had caused a setback for the loan waiver and other welfare schemes.
The Union urban development ministry Under Venkaiah Naidu has found that it has an unspent kitty of Rs.1800 crore left in the last budget, with two days left for the final budget revised estimates of the Union budget.
So, both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu have found out a way to appease the TDP and Andhra Pradesh which were aggrieved over the low fund grants under the Finance commission to the state. Both have been receiving brickbats from the state and the poll ally Chandrababu that AP has been denied funds even after conceding that the bifurcation formula was lopsided and one sided by the UPA.
Hence the Centre has decided to release Rs.1000 crore more for the sake of the new capital for AP from Venkaiah Ministry and another Rs.1000 crore from the Finance Ministry. Venkaiah however insisted that the Rs.1000 crore from his ministry should be utilized for solid waste management technology adaptation and solar power generation promotion only.
