It looks like Power Star-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan seems to be working towards revival of his Jana Sena Party, which he had founded before the 2014 elections, and prepare itself to be a force to reckon with for entering the election fray in 2019 in Andhra Pradesh.
This question gained importance and gained heated discussions in political circles following the “power star” suddenly readying himself to take on the Telugu Desam Government on the issue of land acquisition for building the new capital of Andhra Pradesh State.
Apparently, he has sensed that his party has every possibility of growing into a mighty force by 2019 on the lines of Aam Admi Party in New Delhi and he feels there is such a situation prevailing in AP.
The stiff resistance from farmers of various villages in Guntur district has given an excellent opportunity to Pawan Kalyan to get back into people and establish roots for his party. Though initially, he gave an impression that he would join hands with the TDP to bring pressure on the Centre to grant special status to AP and sanction more funds, he has changed his mind. May be he thought his party has bright future if he starts focusing on people’s issues like land pooling.
The tone an tenor of Pawan Kalyan at the meetings in Guntur villagers, where large number of farmers and others thronged with memoranda to be submitted to him, clearly gave an indication that the film star is preparing himself to don the role of a political leader.
His declaration that he would even go an indefinite fast to protect the interests of the farmers brought to the fore the hidden agenda of the actor-turned politician. And undoubtedly this would be like a thorn in the flesh for Chandrababu Naidu.
