New Delhi: Microsoft wants you to believe that there is a world beyond Google’s YouTube search. The software giant has just revamped its Bing video search engine which promises to give you a better video experience than the existing platform by Google.

The new layout for Microsoft Bing makes searching easier and faster with bigger video thumbnails. In its blog, the search engine notes that along with large thumbnails, the refreshed Bing engine also shows additional information on the video search page like channel, upload date, and view count.

You also have the option of previewing the video right in the search results or click through to the source of the video to watch it there. The enlarged thumbnail image or ‘hero’ is based on the top result and relevance to your search.

The related searches have been moved inline with the original search, which means you will be displayed more suggested videos all the way till the end of the page. The layout has been optimized for touch-based devices and hence can scale better to tablets and other smaller screens.
