A daily wage labourer and another girl, belonging to Ramakrishna Colony of Timmapur mandal, died in Shantinagar in Nepal after the massive earthquake on Saturday.
They had gone to Nepal in search of work. The deceased were identified as Kinnera Swamy, a 70 year-old daily wage labourer and Surampati Anvika, 5-year-old daughter of Anjaiah, another labourer.
Swamy and Anjaiah migrated to Nepal five months ago in search for work. The kin of the deceased appealed to the government to help bring the bodies home. Timmapur Sarpanch K. Narsaia said that around 1,000 members of the Budagajangala community belonging to the Ramakrishna Colony and several other places in the district were stranded in Nepal after the massive earthquake on April 25. He said there was no communication from the migrants since Saturday.
