TRS MLAs funded for Rudramadevi Movie

Wonder what a film has to do with Politics? Yes, there is a political link for Gunasekhar's Rudramma Devi. The movie is said to be a dream project of Gunasekhar and reportedly costed him about 40-45 Crore. Gunasekhar who is in a slump for a long time cannot handle a project of this magnitude and so he had taken the help of few financiers.

We are told that there are three TRS MLAs who have funded this project. They have pumped in around 25 Crores in to the movie. It is said that Rudramma Devi is seen as the first film about Telangana history after the separate state and so to impress the people, the MLAs have funded the project. That is the reason why we got to see so many politicians from Telangana in the audio function of the movie at Warangal.

However the trailers and audio of the movie released recently has totally unsettled them. The response from the audience for the trailers and audio is very poor and the investors are now worried about their money. It is said that the makers have even stopped pumping money in to the CG work of the film which resulted in poor quality.

The movie is said to be India's historical stereoscopic 3D film in which Anushka plays the title role while Rana is seen in the role of  Chalukya Veerabhadrudu, the prince of Nidavardhyapuram (Present Nidadavole). Guna himself is producing the movie and had roped in some top class technicians on to the project. Maestro Ilayaraja is the music composer. Thota Tharani has erected all the sets for this historical film.
