In the wake of Election Commission planning to revoke registration of political parties for not contesting elections, Pressure is mounting on Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan to take part in electoral politics.
Although EC is only considering the option of cancelling the registration of parties which haven't contested polls in the past 5-10 Years as of now (2 Assembly & 1 Lok Sabha Polls), You never know what would be the final call and if Jana Sena will get affected by it or not.
Chief Election Commissioner H S Brahma informs that there are over 1,600 registered political parties in the Country but only a mere 200 of them participate in the electoral process. The new measure is intended to curb the bogus registration of political parties.
Pawan Kalyan hasn't contested in 2014 General Elections but there were speculations he filing his nomination for Sanathnagar by-poll as an Independent. Will the Jana Sena Chief take that risk?
