As promised during his visit to Nellore, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is leaving no stone unturned to make the district an automobile hub. Chandrababu today reiterated his plans to develop Nellore-Chennai-Tirupati an automobile hub with Nellore as its Centre. In what is considered as major boost to this, a top Japan company with an investment of Rs 1500 Crore has come forward to begin its operations very soon at Sri City Sez in Nellore. The unit is expected to provide an employment to nearly 1500 to 2000 locals.
Corroborating the news, Chandrababu stated, "You are all aware that I held multiple reviews to follow-up on ongoing projects in the state. Today, I had a similar review with Japanese company iSuzu on the status of their manufacturing facility in Sri City. I had to the opportunity to meet Isuzu India Managing Director Takashi Kikuchi today. This is our second meeting. The first happened when I visited Japan. Mr Kikuchi me that they will manufacture pick-up trucks at the facility and start operations by April 2016. Isuzu set up a manufacturing facility in Sri City with an initial investment of Rs1,500 crore. The unit will provide jobs to nearly 1,500 to 2,000 locals. As promised earlier, Mr Kikuchi told me that this facility will attract ancillary industries (auto component makers and others) to invest in Andhra Pradesh. Nearly 75 supplies are keen on investing in our state."
"I will be meeting with suppliers next month during the launch of our Investment Mission on April 24th.I have assured Mr. Kikuchi that our state will have a separate policy for ancillary industries which will attract more investments to the state. We will table the policy in our next Cabinet meeting. Our government is also planning to identify clusters for ancillary industries which can become growth drivers of auto industry. On the other hand, I have informed Mr Kikuchi that I intend to make Nellore-Chennai-Tirupati (trio) the automobile hub - on the lines of Tokyo-Kawasaki-Yokohama (trio) cities," Chandrababu further added.
On Parting noted, Babu said, "ISuzu is one such investment which has taken off. We have many more investments in pipeline. They will bring in revenue and spin the wheels of our economy. I will keep you updated on our investments as and when they materialize. I'm confident that these will become crucial revenue generators for our state and drive our economy."
Despite the fact that the successor state is suffering from deep financial crunch, Chandrababu is all out to bring investments, and thus employment to it. Well done, Naidu.
