Eluru: The Andhra Pradesh government has sanctioned Rs 45 crore for taking up 100 works pertaining to the Godavari Pushkarams, Hari Babu, Chief Engineer, Irrigation, Catchment Development Area, said. Addressing the media at Jangareddygudem on Thursday, he said with this amount, Pushkar Ghats and other works would be taken up. Already, tenders worth Rs 33 crore for 95 works were floated, of which 74 works were grounded.
In Rajahmundry, a VIP Ghat with Rs 10 crore would be constructed, he said. As part of delta modernisation programme, works worth Rs 15 crore would be taken up during summer and these would be completed within 45 days as stipulated by the government, he said. Referring to Pattiseema lift irrigation scheme, the Chief Engineer said flood water of the Godavari would be utilised for irrigation through the scheme.
