A new study report published by the Pew Research Center's religious profile reveals that India will surpass Indonesia to become the world's largest Muslim populated country by the year 2050. The reports also predicted that Hindu's will become the world's third largest population by that year. The report also says that the Islam will grow rapidly than any other religion and Christianity will remain the largest religious group for the next 4 decades.

Currently, atheists and people who do not affiliate themselves with any religion are placed third in the world's population with 13.2 per cent and Hindus will be surpassing them to occupy the 3rd spot with 14.9 per cent of the world's population.

The reports also say that Muslims growth will be phenomenal and will witness a near parity between the Christians and Muslims with 2.9 billion to that of 2.8 billion. The Muslims will rise from 1.6 billion to 2.8 billion by 2050 and by 2070, Islam will be the world's most popular religion with the increasing trends.

The Hindus are expected to double their presence in North America also by 2050, based on the present migration statistics. Interestingly, Buddhism is the only religion that is not expected to see much rise thanks to its stable fertility rate and ageing population.

All these statistics have been chalked out based on the current trends, youth population growth, fertility rates and religious conversions.
