AP Govt to take steps for Tourists’ security
Andhra Pradesh Government will soon form a special police force to be set up for the security of tourists in the state.
Secretary (Tourism and Culture) Neerabh Kumar Prasad, in the meeting to finalize state's tourism policy informed Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that the special police force would have special police stations for tourists apart from a guidance centre and that the tourism department intends to attract Rs 10,000 crore worth investments in next five years.
Stating that the tourism projects be treated as industrial ventures, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu asked the department to explore one ticket opportunity for multi-modal transportation for a tourist and a policy with no commercial rate charges, where special power tariff would be levied for tourism projects.
Chandrababu Naidu suggested the department to focus on the international tourists and directed them to work with AP State Skill Development Corporation according to the workforce requirement for the tourism and hospitality sector. The Chief Minister emphasized on the need to promote Telugu culture and suggested local, tribal art forms, dances to be endorsed on a enormous scale through a range of carnivals.
