Arvind Kejriwal USP is negativity says Kiran Bedi,Delhi elections 2015,2015 Delhi elections
BJP leader Kiran Bedi on Monday defended her decision to join the party and said she is ready to take on her former anti-corruption movement colleague and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal in the February 7 Delhi Assembly elections.
"Kejriwal's USP is heightened negativity," Bedi told Rahul Kanwal in an exclusive interview with the Headlines Today. "I am a positive person and I saw positivity in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his leadership," she said.
"Why did Kejriwal resign after 49 days in power and why did he go to Kashi (Varanasi) to fight Modi?" Bedi asked, referring to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections where the AAP chief lost to Modi from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
When asked about her old tweets criticising PM Modi for his questionable credentials on secularism, Bedi said, "I have more than 20,000 tweets and you only found a few? Let me just say I am my own person. And I have learnt better."
On the allegation that she used Anna Hazare's movement to catapult into active politics, the former IPS officer said, "I don't use anyone or get used by others." There were reports that Hazare expressed his displeasure at Bedi joining a political party and apparently refused to answer her phone call that she made after joining the BJP on Thursday.
Making yet another pitch to be named as Delhi's chief ministerial candidate, Bedi said, "I come with a clear agenda for India First and dream can't fulfil that dream without Delhi First." The BJP is expected to announce its list of candidates as well as its face for the Delhi campaign later on Monday.
