This may not augur well with the religious minded  that  there was a delay of over 15-20 minutes in the Suprabata seva conducted at the Srivari Temple at Tirumala without a break or change of timing since centuries. And especially  it does not  a happy begining for the Indo-Srilankan ties in the wake of the delay in Suprabata seva for which the Srilankan President Maithripala Sirisena was to be present today .

Reports from Tirumala show that the age old locks of the Vendi Vakili (golden doors) of the Ananda Nilayam of  Srivari Temple could not be opened  and finally the padlock of the huge door had to be opened with gas cutters .

The entire hierarchy of TTD -EO and JEO were at the receiving end as the President of Srilanka Maithripala Sirisena was to attend the Suprabata seva this morning .Although everything went off well, the stigma of slack administration however continued to stick to TTD administration . The Srilankan authorities considered it as a bad omen as all the successive Presidents have been regular visitors to Tirumala and had sought blessings of Lord Venkateswara for all of their programs and reigns.

JEO Sri k S Srinivasa Raju said there was no hindrance to  the Srilanka President and his spouse  jayanti visit to Temple during Suprabata seva.

The incident has caused a  cascading impact on devotees of Tirumala who feel that  the TTD administration has given a go by to the traditions and customs of Vaikhanasa Agama tenents which  govern the customs and traditions in the Tirumala temple. This is the third time that there has been a delay in the opening of the temple  in the last three Years.' Once  the  key bunch had been misplaced  and second time the concerned  person in charge of the morning rituals had failed to be present ", said a TTD source .

Similarly there have been several mishaps in the conduction of Vahana processions and also the  theft of some leaves in the gold vines of the golden chariot
