Hyderabad: People generally feel that they will get jobs and other facilities in addition to development of the area when an airport is constructed. However, residents of Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh think differently.

They are against the idea of establishing an airport near their village. They feel that if an airport is constructed, they will loose not only their cultivable lands but also their livelihood. The villagers don't want a development where they will loose their livelihood.

Soon after the AP government has announced the sanctioning of an international airport for Bhogapuram, the agitated villagers are refusing to part with their lands and are against the airport near their village.

All the villagers in the mandal have decided to unite and fight against the international airport.

In this connection, they not only blocked the national highway but even decided to stage a protest in front of the local tahasildar's office.
