Hyderabad: Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh K Chandrashekar Rao and Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday stepped up their moves in a determined bid to nail each other in connection with the raging controversy over the cash-for-vote scam.
While KCR held a lengthy meeting with DGP Anurag Sharma and ACB DGP AK Khan and discussed in detail the probe into the scam and the material gathered so far to implicate his AP counterpart, Chandrababu Naidu held a series of meetings with senior police officials of his state, including DGP JV Ramudu and Intelligence chief Anuradha to speed up investigations with regard to tapping of phones and the 88 cases filed against KCR in various police stations alleging intimidation of Christian Associations’ Federations convener Mathaiah Jerusalem, an A-4 in Revanth Reddy’s cash-for-vote case.
The AP government also constituted a four-member SIT team led by DIG Mohd Iqbal to speed up the investigation into the Mathaiah case. Our Delhi Bureau adds that the OSD of AP Chief Minister has been rushed to Delhi to apprise the Centre of the latest developments.
KCR is understood to have advised his officials to speed up the investigation and gather the required fool-proof evidences. Meanwhile, the TTDP decided to hold dharnas across Telangana against the TS Chief Minister. According to TTDP floor leader E Dayakar Rao, the party has called upon the cadre to organise dharnas from Thursday protesting against the vindictive politics of the TRS government.
He alleged that KCR conspired to finish the TDP in Telangana for his own political gains. The TRS government threw people’s welfare to the winds and confined to creating political upheaval in the state, he added. Dayakar Rao said his party would stand by the leaders who were arrested and received notices from the ACB and help in bringing them out clean and unscathed.
The party is also contemplating approaching higher courts against the harassment of TDP leaders in the form of foisting cases by the TS government, he added. Interestingly, the AP government apart from tightening the law and order at L-Block where the office of Naidu is situated has decided that it will not allow Telangana employees to use the entry and exit points of the AP Secretariat.
