Andhra leaders,public institutions in the telangana State,AP Reorganisation Act,TRS plenary,Telangana Culture – Renaissance
Hyderabad: Removal of the names of Andhra leaders named after the public institutions in the State, demand to implement all promises made to the T State under AP Reorganisation Act and increase the number of Assembly seats to 153 were among 12 resolutions adopted at the day-long TRS plenary held in the city on Friday.
Moving a resolution on ‘Telangana Culture – Renaissance’ in the meeting, party senior leader N Laxman Rao said the onslaught on Telangana culture was evident in the united Andhra with the neglect of the promotion of Telangana folk, literature and dance forms in the last 60 years.
The resolution demanded the government to remove all statues of Andhra leaders and delete the names of Andhra famous personalities named after government office buildings, public parks, streets, universities and other public institutions in the State. It also demanded that the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University be named after Suravaram Pratap Reddy University.To promote Telangana culture, the TRS leader suggested the government to constitute Telangana Sahitya Academy to promote and preserve ancient Telangana literature.
To encourage Telangana language, a permanent dictionary preparation committee should also be formed. Besides these, the establishment of Telangana Cultural Centres in every district headquarters and town halls in every division were suggested to revive the Telangana culture. In another resolution, the ruling party demanded the Centre to implement all promises made to the State, particularly under 13th Schedule in the Reorganisation Act.
The establishment of Tribal university, AIIMS, Horticulture university, integrated steel plant in Khammam, tax exemption to promote industries, setting up of Rail Coach factory and development of roads in backward districts were also included in the resolution. The other resolutions adopted in the meeting were – promotion of Hyderabad as a Global City, welfare and development of all deserved communities and make success the government flagship programmes like Mission Kakatiya and Water Grid projects in a transparent way.
The party demanded the Centre to accord permission to the gas-based power plants proposed at Nedunuru and Shankarpalli projects. To achieve 100 per cent greenery in Telangana, the party resolved to plant 230 crore saplings in next three years. The party called rank and file to make grand success the ensuing first Godavari Puskaralu in the State. Chief Minister and TRS President K Chandrashekar Rao played a moderator role during the discussion on the resolutions.
