Hyderabad: In a major development, Telangana State government has taken a decision to regularise 4,001 contract employees in TSRTC. Orders have been issued in this regard. Earlier, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had announced 44 per cent of fitment against the demand for 43 per cent.
Taking a cue from the Chief Minister, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation on Friday issued orders regularising its contract employees, according to information. With this, the services of contract employees, including 2,376 drivers and 1,625 conductors, were regularised from last May 14.
TSRTC Joint Managing Director Ramana Rao issued orders in this regard, according to information. The orders were issued in accordance with the previous agreement reached between the workers and the management. It may be noted here that KCR promised to regularise the contract workers in the State, including that of RTC.
With the order of Ramana Rao, the TRS government kept its promise of regularising TSRTC contract workers. Expressing delight over the development, the Telangana Mazdoor Union (TMU) conveyed its gratitude to the Chief Minister. The TMU hailed the RTC for keeping its promise. Accordingly, these employees are likely to get all the allowances from May and get monetary benefits.
