It wasn't a heart-stopping moment.
It was a moment when a heart stopped everything on Begumpet-Somajiguda Road. It was indeed a 'heart'ening moment.
A patient in need of an urgent heart transplant at Somajiguda's Yashoda Hospital and a heart that was waiting to be transplanted. For this the heart of a brain dead patient in a Bangalore hospital was brought to Hyderabad. The plane touched down at Begumpet airport at 1.30 PM and the city traffic police created a green corridor for the ambulance carrying the heart by stopping the whole traffic for over 3 minutes.
The patient is said to be Padma of Khammam. She has been suffering from severe heart-related problems and had serious issues with the pumping of heart.
The heart transplant takes at least five hours. The patient would be kept in incubation after 48 hours. She could be discharged in about seven days.
