Improved living standards for Anganwadi workers assures Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and also for making them partners in the development programmes put into practice at village level.

The Chief Minister on Saturday in an interaction with Anganwadi workers, helpers and supervisors assembled from districts said the government was committed to modify Anganwadi centres in the State as the best in the country.

The Chief Minister heard to all the issues and invited suggestions on different aspects of the functioning of Anganwadi centres for over three hours. The implementation of ‘Kalyana Laxmi’ and ‘Arogya Laxmi’ schemes were also discussed at the meeting along with the management of Anganwadi centres, honorarium to workers.

The Chief Minister assuring the wage increase said that it would be implemented since March itself. He also announced that based on their experience and academic qualifications, the supervisor posts would be filled with Anganwadi workers and would be given priority in other posts too.

The Anganwadi workers could play an important role in the implementation of the proposed KG to PG education scheme as they would have rich experience in handling children in their pre-school stage.

Along with the assuring the wages, provision of life insurance cover, Aasara pensions, food security cards, the water supply to the Anganwadi centres would be implemented soon by the Government said KCR.
