Hyderabad: Indicating that he was getting ready for taking up greater responsibility, TDP workers welfare fund coordinator Nara Lokesh on Saturday participated in the party politburo meeting which was chaired by TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. He submitted a report not only on his performance during the last 10 months but also said that there was lot of gap between promises and performance by the party leaders.
Referring to the last Mahanadu, Lokesh in his report said that the party leaders had vied with each other in making announcement of donations for the party. Lokesh said that under TDP workers Welfare Cell program, 54 lakh party activists’ names were registered in two States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In the report, the young TDP leader stated that the Cell has received 14,300 applications seeking financial help for education and medical treatment.
So far the Cell has cleared 9, 300 applications. The Cell has sanctioned funds for education to 123 party activists in Andhra Pradesh while 131 in Telangana. Similarly, 170 workers got financial help in Andhra Pradesh while 286 workers in Telangana for different works, he said in his report. The Cell has conducted 10 recruitment melas for the children of party workers and 465 youth got jobs in different institutions as per their efficiency and quality, Lokesh informed the politburo.
