The Election department that is handling both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states’ election affairs appears to have found an aversion from Telangana over the functioning of the department. In the wake of MLC polls underway for two graduate seats in Telangana and two Teachers seats in Andhra Pradesh, the friction has surfaced.

Inside sources say that the GAD officials of Telangana government returned the bills worth Rs. 4 crore in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Bhanwarlal with queries while have kept them pending for last  three months.

The bills included the payments to suppliers, printers who worked towards CD’s, electoral rolls, etc. Even though the ECI contributed major share for conduction of elections in both the states, both the governments need to shell out their share.

The contention came from the CEO officials that the OP-2 officials of Telangana and GAD were harassing them with returning bills of even smaller amounts. A senior official in CEO office at South-H block said that they are no understanding why the aversion is coming from a section officer in GAD- OP-2.

Besides the Rs 4 Crore bills, huge payments have been pending for months. Also, the allegations include that the GAD-Telangana made fast money in payments during the general elections and wanted the elections to be handled in Telangana by a separate Telangana CEO.
