Government on new alignments of metro route, L&T and Metro quarrel never comes to an end, L&T separate survey on estimated cost on new alignments
One more twist has taken place on Hyderabad Metro. Recently, KCR was suggested some changes on alignment to L&T Chairman when later met the Chief Minister. L&T was unwillingly accepted the changes proposed by the Government on new alignments of metro route. Both Metro and L&T did separate survey on estimated cost on new alignments. There is huge difference between two estimates.

As per the officials, Hyderabad metro would stop if they don’t comes to an agreement on estimated costs. L&T is doing 72 KMs works for Metro Project in Hyderabad among three corridors. KCR had suggested the changes in all three corridors.

Hyderabad Metro engineers did ground level survey and estimated that L&T would extend another 3.1 KMs metro lane after the changes in alignment. It would expects 800 crores additional cost to L&T. But L&T feels that around 2,200 crores would incurred for making the changes as per the Government.

Metro officials from Pune have already started trail run between Nagole to Mettuguda route. First Metro route can schedule to open by this Ugadi. L&T also thought that the declared fares are not enough to maintain Metro rail in Hyderabad. It might revise the fares and will increase to the maximum extent. Until there is no co-ordination between Government and L&T, Metro rail would take further delay to come on to tracks.
