Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu called Telangana CM KCR after water sharing tussle at Nagarjuna Sagar reached new levels taking serious turn, with tempers flared up resulting in fist fights between police force and irrigation officials of two states.

Chandra Babu called KCR and spoke over the incident which left 7 injured. Both decided to discuss over the issue at 10 AM on Saturday meeting personally.

KCR promised to withdraw the police force deployed at Nagarjuna Sagar and requested Chandra Babu to ensure that AP police maitain their calm. Both CMs felt that these steps are essential to bring the situation under control.

clashes resulted after AP irrigation officials came to release water from Nagarjuna Sagar to Krishna District and Telangana officials stopped from doing so. There was scuffle between police and irrigation officials and later Telangana, AP minister Harish Rao and Uma Maheshwara Rao spoke to media. SPs of Nalgonda and Guntur reached Sagar and discussed to calm down the atmosphere.
