Daggubati Ramanaidu(June 6, 1936 - February 18, 2015) was a multilingual Indian film producer. He was the founder of Suresh Productions and holds the Guinness Book of World Records for the most films produced by an individual, having produced more than 150 films in 13 Indian languages. He has also served as a member of parliament for the Bapatala constituency of Guntur District in the 13th Lok Sabha from 1999–2004.


He was suffering with Cancer since few months. He was undergoing treatment in the Hospital. Popular Telugu actor Rajasekar, who is also a doctor by profession, has been attending to producer D. Ramanaidu, who has been suffering from prostate cancer, over the last few months. But the actor was not able to save the producer's life as the latter's condition was reported to be critical.

“He has been on constant medical attention for some time now. We’re trying some alternate therapies on him and the result has been satisfactory. Although the cancer can’t be killed, efforts are being taken to make him feel comfortable,” Rajasekar told IANS recently.

The actor said that Ramanaidu’s condition was “not bad” till his death. “It’s not good either. He’s reached a point where he has to be medically dependent day in day out,” he said.

Popularly known as movie mogul, Ramanaidu has produced films in all Indian languages.

In 2012, Ramanaidu was conferred with the third highest civilian award in the Republic of India, the Padma Bhushan, in recognition for his contribution to Telugu cinema. In 2009 he received the Dada Saheb Phalke Award for Lifetime Achievement in the film industry for his outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema,

Ramanaidu had contributed a substantial part of his earnings to numerous philanthropic purposes including the Ramanaidu Charitable Trust that was founded in 1991.
