Hyderabad: Seven monkeys and 21 stray dogs were caught in and around the Rashtrapati Nilayam, Bollarum before the President’s arrival on Monday for his 10-day Southern Sojourn.
Also, thanks to the President’s visit, the roads from Tivoli to RP Nilayam have been recarpeted. Mr Govardhan Reddy, GHMC North Zone veterinary officer said, “Special teams for stray dogs and monkeys have been deployed around RP Nilayam in two shifts. Monkey cages have been set up around the area. The monkeys and dogs were trans-located to the Jeedimetla shelter home. Also, the zoo department has deployed snake squads. The team will function in two shifts.”
The zoo has deployed six snake catchers. Meanwhile, the road from Char Khanna, Trimulgherry, Tivoli Road have been recarpeted and new roads have been laid from Lothkunta to Alwal up to Bollarum.
