Hyderabad: President Pranab Mukherjee was accorded a warm welcome when he arrived here on a 10-day southern monsoon sojourn to Hyderabad. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in an unusual gesture bent down and touched the President’s feet; he had similarly welcomed the President during his previous visit.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu did not turn up to receive the President, thereby avoiding coming face to face with Mr Rao. Both however are slated to meet during Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan’s banquet for the President at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday night.
