AP new capital,AP staff to move to new capital,AP govt employees to move to new capital

Hyderabad: As many as 22 employees' associations are openly informing the AP government of their unwillingness to move to the new capital was rather a set back to the State government's move to shift the offices from Hyderabad to the temporary locations in Amaravati, the new capital.

AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, after the ground breaking ceremony of the new capital on June 6, announced that he would work from there four days a week. Cabinet Ministers also followed suit. But nothing of that sort happened so far.

On the other hand, it came to know that several Ministers have already informed their respective staff that the relocation is not possible this year. According to senior officer of the State government, the staff were not interested in moving as the academic year has already started.

Besides, the hunt for land for staff accommodation has not completed and the government has not cleared the construction of staff quarters. With all these issues yet to be solved, the relocation may take three to four years.

While commencement of the academic year was one of the reasons for the employees' reluctance to shift to the new capital, there are other apprehensions stopping the employees from moving from Hyderabad.

They say they cannot go to a place where there are no minimum facilities like accommodation, medical and education etc.

Further, the employees have some doubts to be clarified before they move to the new capital. They want clarity on zonal representation. They want the capital region to be declared as free zone so that all the 13 districts in the State will have equal representation.

They want the government to protect the house sites allotted to them during the time of the united AP. They also want a clarity on the nativity of their children who are presently studying in Hyderabad.

The committees with senior IAS officials and State Ministers to look into temporary accommodation for the staff and to monitor the shifting of key departments and their staff respectively have become either non-entities or are not doing their allotted work.

Meanwhile, sources from Chief Minister's Office said that the Chief Minister will soon alleviate all the doubts of the employees.
