Hinting that Centre is in no mood to accord Special Category Status to AP, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu advised his cabinet ministers to cut down unnecessary expenditure at all departments till the state recovers from the current crisis. "Special Status could be of great use to AP. May be, NDA backtracked due to political compulsions," he told, during an informal meeting with ministers at Irrigation Office in Vijayawada.

The TDP Supremo opined that AP will have a tough time till March end and a recovery is expected from thereafter. He asked his cabinet colleagues to direct all the departments to identify schemes through which AP could tap Central Funds.
 
It is already known that sanction of funds to all the departments in AP had seen a cut to allow Government pay the salaries of Government Employees.
