A popular YSR Congress Party leader of the Nellore district and a practicing advocate, Allam Narendra was killed by unidentified assailants at a busy thoroughfare in Nellore town Wednesday evening.

Narendra was rushed to hospital by locals after the miscreants stabbed him with knives but he had succumbed to injuries late in the night.

The murder sent shock waves across a peaceful Nellore town leading observers to wonder whether this would lead to a new era of murder politics in the town.

Narendra used to indulge in land settlements and police are unable to ascertain whether the murder is political or personal.
