Prashant Bhushan,Yogendra Yadav speak on the rift within AAP
Baring their heart out, Aam Aadmi Party leaders Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav on Friday spoke of their differences with party convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
Raising explosive questions, Yadav said that they merely demanded a few things "for the party" because of which they are being targetted. "The questions that we are raising are not just our points but demands of all of our well wishers," he said.
"We raised questions on internal democracy within the party. We raised demand for a need of more powers to the state units. We raised demand to launch probe through an internal lokpal into the allegations that have been levelled on the party. We raised the demand that the voice of the volunteer must be heard. We said that the rule of transparency that we demand from others should also be applied internally upon us. We asked the posts at the national level of the party which are vacant to be filled up," Yadav said as he quoted his 5-point demands.
Yadav yet again asserted that they never raised any questions over whether Kejriwal should be the party's national convenor or not. "We never had any questions over this. Such questions were never raised by us," he said. Bhsuhan also backed Yadav claiming that they never made any demand over Kejriwal's removal as the national convenor.
Yadav also said that such allegations have hampered the trust that people have placed in the party. "We accept that some trust, expectations that people had from us has suffered a hit. But we are the only party which talks about democracy within the party," he said.
