Raid on brothel in Hyderabad: PG college professor arrested

HYDERABAD: Special Operations Team (SOT) sleuths arrested an associate professor of Post Graduate College of Science, Saifabad, at a brothel in Chaitanyapuri on Tuesday morning and rescued a sex worker.

Acting on a tip-off, the SOT sleuths raided a brothel being run at flat No. 301, Laxmi Narasimha Nilayam. Police caught a customer, Bokka Surender Reddy, 48, an associate professor of the PG College, Saifabad, along with its organiser, R Priya, 37.

Bokka Surender Reddy is also the correspondent of Ujwala Coaching Centre, Narayanguda, where he teaches mathematics. When police arrested Reddy, he tried to hide his identity. The associate professor told police that he was a private employee and even threw away his identity card under the bed. However, a sub-inspector (SI) of the SOT team, who went for mathematics coaching at Ujwala Coaching Centre, identified the academic. Later, the constables found Reddy's identity card at the brothel.

Police seized Rs 15,100 cash, five cellphones and a bike from their possession. Police rescued the 28-year-old sex worker and shifted her to rescue home.
