Hyderabad: Director N. Shankar, who shot to fame with films like Venkatesh-starrer Jayam Manadera and Jagapathi Babu's Jai Bolo Telangana, is all set to take political plunge. While his political ambitions have been dangling for a while, with formation of Telangana State imminent he has come out open. What's more? Shankar is going to be in poll fray and he is keen to contest 2014 elections.

Shankar is seriously lobbying for Nalgonda Parliament ticket from Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS). Even TRS sources too confirmed his proposal. But nothing has been finalized yet and TRS is mulling its options as there is huge competition within its own party and possible tie-up with Congress is still on. N. Shankar is now helming Telangana Cinema Force (TCF) and has no big projects in hand. Although, he stated that he is going to direct Kamal Haasan in next that turned out to be false. As of now, Shankar's political fate is hanging in balance.
