With the cricket fever reaching its peak point in India, most of the cricket fans have given a miss to their offices & work-places today. As per the reports, more than 60% of the employees has taken a sick/casual leave today and were seen busy with watching the World Cup match with their families and friends. The semi-final match between India and Australia has just started and most of corporate companies looked emptied.

Expecting the same, companies like KPMG and MakeMyTrip have declared an official holiday for which the employees will be compensating on coming Saturday. On the other hand, corporates like Godrej, SAP, Tech Mahindra, Vodafone, RPG and PWC have arranged Giant Screens at the offices along with snacks.

"It is not a tough call when you feel the pulse of a young workforce and with a 9-5 match, we decided to let them take a leave," said Shalini Pillai of KPMG India. "We know the excitement around the India-Australia semifinal match is supersonic! Our employees don't have to choose between passion towards their work and love for cricket. So, we have offered them the opportunity to take an off on Match day in lieu of the weekly off on Saturday," said Yuvaraj Srivastava, MakeMyTrip.

That's the craze for the game of Cricket and all the streets will be vacant until the evening. Every Restaurant and Bar in the city is packed with pulsating crowds.
