Nellore: India’s leading two wheeler manufacturing company TVS Motors is going to set-up its 4th two-wheeler production unit in Nellore district very soon. Currently, it is producing 231.95 lakh vehicles per year in its three plants in India and one in Malaysia. It is expecting to add another 10-15 lakh units to that figure from this upcoming manufacturing facility in Nellore district.

Container Corporation of India Ltd. is also gearing to launch its container manufacturing unit at Nellore district very soon. Ruchi Group of Companies, India’s leading fertilizer manufacturing Company Krsihab Co are also gearing to launch their manufacturing units in the district very soon. Apart from these, around 11 thermal power plants are in various stages of construction between Nellore and Chennai.

APIIC is making arrangements to handover lands to all these companies very shortly. The proximity with Chennai and Krishnapatnam Port has turned a blessing for the district. Many more industries are queuing up to open shops in the district. AP government is expecting not less than 13,000-20,000 direct employment and double that number indirect employment for the locals from these companies. These companies are also helpful to bail out the cash-strapped state government from its financial crunch.
