Vasundhara Raje,Lalit Modi,MoU
While the BJP continues to firefight in the aftermath of Vasundhara Raje-Lalit Modi revelations , reports have emerged that the Rajasthan government had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Portugal based hospital soon after the cancer operation of Lalit Modi's wife in Lisbon .
According to details of the MoU available with India Today, Vasundhara Raje led Rajasthan government signed an MoU with the Champalimaud Foundation in October, 2014, two months after Lalit Modi's wife was first treated.
The MoU was signed to establish a Centre for Excellence in Jaipur for cancer care. The terms of the contract stated that Rajasthan government will provide land and construct building for the medical centre. The state government was also needed to provide doctors, nursing staff and paramedics.
The MoU further stated that the foundation would be responsible for only providing technical support, training and clinical procedures. The foundation will also help in design research on the same lines as in the Portugal Centre.
The proposed Centre for Excellence in Cancer Care is still to come up after the signing of the MoU.
Vasundhara has been under siege ever since the revelation of a 2011 letter where she endorsed the former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner's immigration application to British authorities. Despite, the Congress and Oppostion demanding her immediate sacking, the BJP is unlikely to ask the Rajasthan CM to step in view of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
RSS won't rock BJP's boat
Even the RSS, BJP's ideological mentor, is not in a mood for asking Vasundhara to step down. Top RSS sources told India Today that it will not exert any pressure on the BJP to act against any minister till Bihar elections.
RSS has told the BJP leadership that it should not come under any opposition pressure and keep on working towards the development goal, sources said.
