Telangana PCC Chief Poonala Lakmaiah has had an unpleasant experience on Saturday while staging protest on behalf of Congress party against the TRS Government's decision to shift the Chest Hospital in Yerragadda for the construction of a New Secretariat in the premises.

Following the orders of the Government, Police Personnel tried to disrupt the protest of Congress leaders and Ponnala was allegedly manhandled in the process. Pained by the behaviour of the cops, Ponnala sat down on the road and tears rolling down from his eyes were noticed at that point of time.

Congress Leaders condemned ill-treatment meted out to Ponnala Lakmaiah. They reiterated Telangana is a reality not because of one man but collective efforts of 4 crore people and stressed the necessity to focus on issues of people rather than construction of new structures.
