Days after the Telangana government rolled out free WiFi services on the stretch around the Hussainsagar Lake, the facility is yet to appeal to the public.

Connectivity issues and network problems besides lack of understanding on how to use the service are proving to be hindrances to this unique initiative. Presently, BSNL is providing the WiFi free of cost for the initial 30 minutes around a 10 km radius of the lake.

On Sunday, strollers and visitors to popular spots like Jalavihar and Eat Street on Necklace Road complained that they were not even able to detect the WiFi. “I tried for almost one hour to detect the free WiFi but could not,” said Akram, a youngster who spent his Sunday evening outside Eat Street. “The new service did not show up on my smart phone and it was disappointing since I was looking forward to using it.”
