Andhra Pradesh has recorded substantial growth in liquor revenues in the past 8 month (April-November). A revenue of Rs 7,581.5 crore has been collected during this period against Rs 7,292 crore last year. Control on non-duty paid liquor and strict vigilence is the reason behind growth in income.

Currently, AP have around 4,000 liquor outlets. While Visakhapatnam leads in liquor consumption (Rs 800 crore), Srikakulam contributes just Rs 364.2 crore.
