Following the green signal by the central government regarding the setting up of a new international airport in Bhogapuram mandal of Vizianagaram district, the locals have staged protest earlier and still they continue to protest saying that it will destroy their lands. They told the government not to forcefully take away their lands. Some of the local organisations have tried to storm the district Collectorate. Police have strengthened the security measures.
