Medical reimbursement scheme extended

Krishna District NGOs’ Association president A Vidya Sagar on Thursday said Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas had assured that special steps would be taken by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to ensure proper implementation of the health card scheme for government staff. The medical reimbursement scheme for employees to end on November 30 will be extended by two months.

In a press release Vidya Sagar said though the Government issued health cards to the staff, the empanelled corporate hospitals were not honouring them as they were yet to get proper guidelines. The association leaders who met the Health Minister sought extension of the reimbursement facility till proper implementation of the health card scheme.

The Minister held a meeting with the managements of empanelled private hospitals in 13 districts and leaders of the Doctors’ Association. They explained the problems in providing quality medi-care to the employees as rates fixed for treatments were inadequate. After hearing their grievances, the Minister said a special team would be appointed to fix the rates. The process would take some time, the NGO leader said.  

Association leaders Md Iqbal, B Satyanarayana Reddy, B Swamy, M Sambasiva Rao, Vijaya Kumari, Andhra Pradesh Super Speciality Hospital Doctors’ Association president Dr PV Ramana Murthy, vice-president Dr Murali attended the meeting.
