RPF rescues orphan girl passenger

The RPF personnel swung into action and on arrival of the train at Ramagundam Railway station, the Inspector, along with GRP staff rushed to the coach to enquire into the matter. On verification, it was found that the girl, Radha Lohar, aged 19 years, had been working with a placement agency

The timely action of the Railway officials enabled rescue an orphan girl travelling by Train No 12723 Hyderabad – New Delhi Telangana Express on Tuesday at Ramagundam. A co-passenger gave information to all concerned about a girl being forcibly taken to Delhi by Train No 12723 Hyderabad-New Delhi Telangana Express, and the message was received by Railway Protection Force (RPF), Secunderabad Division through Security Helpline No 182.

At the same time, Divyansh Khunteta @Divyansh131 tweeted the matter @RailMinIndia, the twitter handle of Indian Railways, based on the information received from the co-passenger, who happened to be his relative. Acting on the same, Ved Prakash, Director, Information & Publicity, Railway Board,

New Delhi passed on the information to Chief Public Relations Officer, South Central Railway who alerted Sumati Shandilya, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Secunderabad Division on the matter, since the train was passing on the Division.The RPF personnel immediately swung into action and on arrival of the train at Ramagundam Railway station, the Inspector, RPF along with RPF and GRP (Government Railway Police staff) rushed to the coach to enquire into the matter.

On verification, it was found that the girl, Radha Lohar, aged 19 years, who lost her parents, a resident of Alipurduar District, West Bengal had been working with a placement agency, KT Enterprise in New Delhi and had come over to Hyderabad on Monday along with two persons, Kamruddin Ansari and Prem Kanti Tirkey for work and was returning to Delhi.

The victim girl contacted a co-passenger and informed him about being taken to Delhi against her wish, which was passed on by him to the Railways. The victim along with the accompanying passengers was detained at Ramagundam. The girl was taken under the protective custody of PRATHAM, an NGO. The RPF planned to send the victim home.
