The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has authorised its vice-president and former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar to call both Wankhede curator Sudhir Naik and Team India director Ravi Shastri and 'amicably resolve' the issue between them.
Naik, a former Test opener, had accused the ex-India all-rounder of having abused him for preparing a flat track during the fifth and final ODI between India and South Africa in Mumbai last Sunday. The Indian team management had apparently desired a turning pitch for the decider, which India lost by a whopping margin of 214 runs.
Shastri has denied Naik's allegation. Naik has submitted a formal complaint to the MCA in this regard. he matter is likely to be resolved after the first Test between India and SA at Mohali, which will end on November 9.
