Even though Bollywood has seen family sagas before, this one takes the cake away, big time. The emotional family sequences are sure to make you teary eyed.

Plus Points:
The best part about the film is that every character has its own story to say. They lead different lives and are completely unique from each other. Even though Bollywood has seen family sagas before, this one takes the cake away, big time. The emotional family sequences are sure to make you teary eyed.
Speaking of performances, each actor is better than the other. Sidharth is natural and fabulous. He connects with you from the word go and stays with you till the end. Fawad Khan is sensational. Apart from acting well, his chemistry with Sidharth is too good.
Alia as usual is beautiful and impressive. It is however Rishi Kapoor, who you will fall in love with instantly. From his praise worthy performance to his unconventional looks, it is hard to get him out of your minds.
Minus Points:
Being a film which only caters to the urbane classes, it will not be liked much on smaller cities. Also the movie’s take on relationships just wont go well with a lot of audiences.
Technical aspects:
Shakun Batra is an intelligent film maker with a fresh thought process. Industry badly needs such directors to can take Indian cinema stand head to head with international standards of film making.
The screenplay is kept extremely contemporary and will mainly lure the youngsters with modern thinking. There is going to be a small chunk of Indian population who will be against it. While the first half is all about the fun and mischief of the Kapoor brothers, the second half is emotional, intriguing and so right in so many senses.
The songs, which have already topped the music charts are so well fitted in the plot that you tend to enjoy each one. The cinematography and editing is top notch.
Verdict:
Touted as a romantic comedy, Kapoor & Sons is far more than just being that. It is neither a love triangle, nor a family drama. The movie has elements of love, compassion, emotion and rage. Do not give this one a miss.
