62nd National Awards were announced yesterday and Praveen Sattaru's 'Chandamama Kathalu' won an award in 'Best Telugu Film' Category. Many Technicians from Telugu Cinema have won National Awards in the past but is very surprising to know that none of our Telugu Heroes have won a 'Best Actor' award so far.

If we check the details, actors from Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada have won as many as 22 times (National Award For Best Actor). Tollywood is considered as one of the biggest film industries in India and it's disheartening to see that not even a single Telugu hero has won a 'Best Actor' award to date.

We had some outstanding performances by our Telugu heroes in the past and they were ignored by the jury. Off-beat films have become a past in Tollywood and 99 percent of our star heroes are running behind commercial cinema only.

Well, if this is the case, it would be greedy for us to expect our heroes to win a national award in the future too.
