Censor certification system is designated to classify films with regard to suitability for audiences in terms of issues such as sex, violence, substance abuse, profanity, impudence or other types of mature content. Ratings typically carry age recommendations in restrictive capacity.
Currently, adult movies are restricted utterly to a certain audience depending on their content. Shyam Benegal headed The Revising Panel of the CBFC (Central Board Of Film Certification) is now considering to create separate time slots in theatres for films with adult content.
The panel is enthusiastic to implement the American grading system of movies in India, special arrangements will be made for 'R' category (stands for This Film is Not Yet Rated) and 'NC-17' rated movies (No one under 18 admitted).
With the new development in censor ratings, special timings will be made in theatres to accommodate Indian and international films that come under NC-17 or R categories. Usually, films with graphic visuals, nudity and brutal action are issued such certificates and are released without cuts.
