Story:

The story of Airlift is based on a real incident that happened when Iraq invaded Kuwait during 1990’s. There was about 1,70,000 Indians, who got stuck in Kuwait and cannot reach India or stay there, till they got help from an Indian businessman who stays there. Akshay Kumar essays the role of Ranjit Katyal, who is one of the renowned business critic who lives in Kuwait. He lives a very luxury life and he considered himself as a Kuwaiti more than an Indian. Ranjit gets married to Amrita Katyal, played by Nimrat Kaur, and leads a very happy life there. After quite some time, Iraq was invaded by Kuwait and the condition in Kuwait becomes too tough for living

During this time, a whopping amount of people was killed in this war. As the script moves on, finally Iraqi soldiers meet Ranjit and one of the Iraqi major, offers this business critic as an escape route for him and his spouse. But, he declines to leave his fellow Indians. Later, he contacted Indian Embassy and seeks help. Along with his fellow Indians, Ranjit faces lot of obstacles and stands as the biggest and kind hearted leader to them and he rescues huge number of Indians in this war.

How, Ranjit along with his fellow Indians travel thousands of Kilometers to cross Jordan border? how he faces lot of troubles? how he manageds to help all the Indians in Kuwait? If you want to know answers for all these questions, you have to watch it on big screen.

Performance:

Akshay Kumar’s acting skills stood as the center of attraction to this film. Akshay’s spontaneity and his facial expressions in every frame, was simply unbelievable. In every scene Akshay has showcased himself as the perfect actor.

Speaking about lead actress Nimrat Kaur, she was perfectly apt as the lead actress. In some instants, her dialogue delivery were not up to the mark but her acting skills were good.

Speaking about the other actors, Feryna Wazheir as Tasneem has also satisfied the audiences with her acting skills. Actor, Inaamulhaq who played the role of Major Khalaf Bin Zayd, was simply awesome. His powerful dialogues with Akshay were so good.
