“Thozha”, which is the one of the much awaited films to watch on Big screen, was released today on 25th March 2016 worldwide. This bilingual movie is featured by Nagarjuna, Karthi and Tamannaah.

Story:

Vikramaditya( Nagarjuna ) is introduced as a quadriplegic millionaire and Srinu (Karthi) is a poor man, who always thinks of money and never values human relationship. Seenu who came out from a Jail, has to settle in a job and show that he is not harm to anyone. He cannot go back to his home since he does not have a good relationship with his family members. Milky Beauty Tamannah Bhatia is introduced as the secretary of Vikramaditya.

Vikramaditya don’t have any relations and he wanted to have friends around him. They start looking for a care-taker for Vikramaditya and finally, Sreenu is selected as the care-taker. Sreenu’s work style impresses Vikramaditya. Vikram started feeling that, Seenu is the best companion and he gradually started having a very good relationship with Seenu. Meanwhile the movie shifts to a flashback, where Jayasudha makes her entry as Sreenu’s mother.

The story again moves to Vikramaditya and Srinu. Here some comedy scenes takes place between them. Here, Prakash Raj makes an entry as Vikram's friend. With the help of Srinu, Vikramaditya gets closer to his distance girlfriend Anushka and again, some twists take place where Vikramaditya is seen as a racer, who lose his legs unfortunately, due to a terrific accident which is stressing him a lot.

How the accident took place and how they overcome from all their trouble and start living a peaceful life forms the rest of the story.

Performance:

Nagarjuna:
As a quadriplegic Millionaire, he did an excellent job and showed his emotions through his facial expressions and tears.. Nagarjuna has once again proven himself as a better actor.

Karthi: He was fantastic at his comic timing which kept the ribs tickling and this is one of his excellent performances till date.

Tamannah: Once again the milk beauty has stolen the hearts of the viewers not only with her gorgeous beauty but also with her amazing performance.

Actors Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Ali and the other cast and crew members have added some colors to the flick. For making the movie more colorful, Anushka Shetty, Shriya Saran, Adivi Sesh and Gabriella Demetriades have done guest appearances.

Plus Points:

Feel good drama
Lead Actor’s rocking performances
Raju Murugan Dialogues
Karthi's Comedy elements.
scenes where Karthi helps Nag to come out of the stress
actor Vivek's comedy track
Prakash Raj's acting skills
touching dialogues between Karthi and Nag
Anushka's cameo

Minus Points:

Songs are misplaced
Some scenes were predictable

Technicalities:

Cinematographer PS Vinod has done a great job, capturing most parts of Paris beautifully. His visuals are slick and looks to be of the highest quality. Kudos for filming the high-octane car chase effectively. Dialogues by Raju Murugan and Murugesh Babu stand out throughout the flick.

The infusion of philosophy in it is what makes this film, that celebrates humanity, that much more effective. Sequences involving sentiment has been handled well, with no room for melodrama. Background score by Gopi Sunder is apt and matches up to what is being portrayed on the screen.

Thozha suffers with its unusually long run time. Indianizing this French drama includes slotting in songs. Unfortunately, songs are thrusted at wrong places, breaking the flow of the movie.

Perhaps, if editor Praveen KL had shortened the length of the film, Thozha might've turned into a special comedy-drama, which then would've been breezy in nature.

Verdict:

Barring a couple of dull moments, Thozha is a treat to watch. After all, who does not like feel good comedy- dramas that celebrates life?
