Minister for Irrigation T. Harish Rao and Minister for Energy G. Jagadeeswar Reddy said that the government wants development in all areas, including remote areas like Narayanakhed.
Both the Ministers visited several areas in Narayanakhed constituency on Thursday and participated in several development programmes. They even addressed some problems like bores, drains and streetlights.
“Telangana has struggled a lot without development for decades due to the rule of Andhra leaders. One of the Andhra leaders said that Telangana would suffer due to the lack of power but we made it possible for industries and farmers to have sufficient power to meet their requirements. There were no power cuts in summer as well. In the last 60 years, this village got only two substations whereas we laid the foundation for as many as 10 substations in a single day. This is an indication towards development,” said Mr. Jagadeeswar Reddy while addressing a gathering at Raparthi village in Kalher mandal, adding that Telangana had been witnessing rapid development under the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
The Minister also said that an agreement had already been signed with the Chhattisgarh Government to supply 1,000 MW power to Telangana.
MP B.B. Patil, MLC Ramulu Naik and others participated in the programme.
